Field Grey commissioned by North Design, undertook a survey of workwear requirements for the Land Registry and developed 3 styles of uniforms for security, reception and surveyors.
1. Accessories / We took the new logo 'aerial' and created a textile breaking down the hard graphic to make something softer but still retaining the intrinsic colours and methodology behind the logo. The inspiration for the textile was from Lucienne Day who, in partnership with Robin Day, was a major force in 50's design in
the UK.
The scarf and tie were manufactured in Italy using silk to give a quality
and depth of colour. The accessories have subsequently been used as corporate gifts.
2. Environment / The Land Registry uniforms were part of the new corporate identity created for this government department. Some 8,000 people control the largest property database in Europe, it protects the ownership of property to the value of £2 Trillion.
