Production Manager

Field Grey is an established business specialising in the design of bespoke uniform solutions for well-known high end clients. We’re looking for an experienced Production Manager to support our Creative Director in the design, development and delivery of our customised service.

This role includes some overseas travel.

Key Responsibilities
• Managing supplier communication and negotiations for final products
• Implementing critical paths for all incoming projects and ensure deadlines are adhered to
• Planning and tracking the development schedule in line with deadlines set by the Creative Director
• Launching and overseeing client wearer trials
• Working with the Design & Technical teams to support the process of material sourcing, development and prototyping
• Sourcing suppliers and manufacturers and negotiating production prices within budget and margin targets
• Raising and processing Purchase Orders in line with company ordering procedures
• Establishing strong relationships with suppliers to ensure our T&C’s are adhered to
• Placing orders for production requirements and ensuring they arrive at suppliers in line with the critical path
• Maintaining up to date delivery schedules and supporting reports
• Responsible for pre-production sampling, fit, grading and quality of entire collection
• Checking all specifications with Design & Technical, to ensure they are correct and ready to be communicated to the factories
• Ensuring that all correct raw materials are with suppliers in time for production
• Ensuring that every item is produced by the correct factory in line with our brand quality and finishing
• Responsible for fabric/trims ordering, pricing and verifying unit costs post manufacture
• Maintaining and controlling the sample sealing process with the Technical and Design team

Ideal Candidate
• Demonstrable and proven experience in manufacturing gained within the garment industry
• Degree in relevant subject preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise projects within a fast-paced environment
• Strong multi-product knowledge
• Technical understanding of garment construction
• Experience of tailored products for both male and female
• Good statistical and numerical ability and problem-solving skills
• Planning, cost analysis and margin knowledge
• Fantastic interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships quickly
• Strong negotiating skills, ability to manage commercial constraints and control budgets
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages and Adobe software
• Full driving license
• Language skills would be an advantage
