From hi-vis at Burberry to lab coats at A-Cold-Wall, garments take on whole new meanings even in their purest forms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2186-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"Burberry Invisible Men Ambika P3\" class=\"wp-image-13558\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2186.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2186-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Invisible Men<\/em> explores the often fetishistic approach to traditional menswear themes by catwalk designers, whereby the original intention of a garment &#8211; whether that be a military jacket or functional overalls &#8211; has faded, sometimes entirely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2237-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"Comme des Gar\u00e7ons Invisible Men Ambika P3\" class=\"wp-image-13555\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2237.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2237-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Divided into sections by theme, the exhibition cleverly juxtaposes exemplary workwear pieces with examples of high fashion. A municipal utility jacket worn by employees of Kensington and Chelsea Council in the 1950s and 1960s, itself inspired by the traditional bleu de travail jacket, sits proudly beside designs by Liam Hodges and <a href=\"https:\/\/craig-green.com\">Craig Green<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2210-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"Workwear Bleu de Travail Invisible Men Ambika P3\" class=\"wp-image-13554\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2210.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2210-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key themes include <em>Overalls<\/em>, featuring examples by Prada Linea Rossa and Comme des Gar\u00e7ons; <em>Camouflage<\/em>, featuring genuine army uniforms with garments by Sibling and Jeremy Scott; and <em>Sportswear<\/em>, which presents team jerseys from the 1950s and 60s alongside <g class=\"gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"6\" data-gr-id=\"6\">avant garde<\/g> designs by Maison Martin Margiela and Vivienne Westwood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2144-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"Invisible Men Ambika P3\" class=\"wp-image-13560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2144.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2144-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One section brings together the <em>Urban Protection<\/em> collections of C.P. Company, where Moreno Ferrari designed a range of garments with in-built functionality. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/an-interview-with-lorenzo-osti\/\">Lorenzo Osti<\/a>, president of the brand and friend of Field Grey, was a key advisor to the exhibition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2157-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"Invisible Men Ambika P3\" class=\"wp-image-13559\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2157.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MPB_2157-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another section is devoted to the designs of the late Alexander McQueen. Often overlooked due to his unrivalled womenswear designs, McQueen&#8217;s menswear allows us to explore his roots in traditional tailoring, having trained on Savile Row. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
