There has been much debate over the last few months about the role, purpose and effectiveness of the school uniform. From Bradford’s Hanson Academy sending home 200 students<\/a> for not following uniform rules, to the growing cost of outfitting children under stringent guidelines at a time of austerity. The debate rages on, but it got us thinking about our own school uniforms. We thought we’d have a look back and share our school uniform pictures. Some memories are fond, some less so, but here they are!<\/p>\n

\nDan<\/strong> (left) shares this publicity shot from his time at Beyton Middle School, Suffolk, in 1991. That striped tie and white shirt is typical of most school uniforms: not quite sure what’s on that plate though. Siobhan<\/strong> attended Scoil Ursula in Ireland, here in 1991 she’s wearing a very flattering yellow blouse with brown accents, brought together by combining both colours on a polyester tie. Wonderful. <\/p>\n
