A few weeks later than normal due to the Rio 2016 Olympics, Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood are back in the tents with twelve new bakers ready to show off their finest fancies, best buns and perfect pastries.<\/p>\n<p>As apron aficionados, we\u2019ve put ourselves to the test and devised what we\u2019d wear if we made a starring role in the Bake Off tent. My mum owned a bakery for 25 years and in the summer holidays I would be made to stand on a large baking tray when I made the homemade pies to catch the pastry as it fell on the floor! As a result I make a mean Danish pastry and scones.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8953\" src=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/ca_bake_off_low-600x419.jpg\" alt=\"ca_bake_off_low\" width=\"600\" height=\"419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/ca_bake_off_low.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/ca_bake_off_low-400x279.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Colette<\/h4>\n<p>I recently designed an apron using this fabric and I love this colour! I am fan of the cross-back apron at the moment and would add big antique brass eyelets and rivets. I\u2019m definitely a messy baker. My Grandma taught me to bake when I was little. I would come home from school and bake cupcakes with her, apparently they were all gone by the time my parents got home!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8957\" src=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_gbbo2-600x396.jpg\" alt=\"fieldgrey_gbbo2\" width=\"600\" height=\"396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_gbbo2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_gbbo2-400x264.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Randolph<\/h4>\n<p>I\u2019ve delved into the Field Grey archive and chosen one of our bespoke apron designs created for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/rabda\" target=\"_blank\">The Restaurant &amp; Bar Design Awards 2013<\/a>. For me simplicity is key and I think this design is genius; a contemporary take on chefs whites. It\u2019s great for hiding a cloud of flour and icing sugar dust, but probably best I don\u2019t attempt a chocolate fondant.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8956\" src=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_gbbo_apron-400x398.png\" alt=\"fieldgrey_gbbo_apron\" width=\"400\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_gbbo_apron-400x398.png 400w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_gbbo_apron.png 586w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/h4>\n<h4>Jess<\/h4>\n<p>Ive chosen an apron made from recycled denim by a Tokyo Brand called\u00a0<strong>Bonum<\/strong>. Not a single one is the same\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8954\" src=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_barbara-337x600.jpg\" alt=\"fieldgrey_barbara\" width=\"337\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_barbara-337x600.jpg 337w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_barbara-225x400.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.field-grey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/fieldgrey_barbara.jpg 506w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 337px) 100vw, 337px\" \/><\/h4>\n<h4>Barbara<\/h4>\n<p>We are going to host a Bake Off competition of our own, and Finance Director Barbara ensures us she is going to knock our spots off. Barbara wore this to make Janice\u2019s 40th birthday cake.
